Over the coming Weeks and Months you will be given lots of advice on how to get the most out of 2021. Coping strategies, how to side-hustle, 100 ways to earn extra income etc. I could go on but I won’t just in case I end up writing about some of these things too….. No promises..

OK there maybe more than 3 but I just wanted to keep it simple.

These 3 things can be taken into any aspect of your life, they really are that simple. Personal, professional, career, health, sports, growing a social media presence, just about anything.

3 easy steps to take each day.

  1. GET UP

As simple as it sounds just GET UP each day. No lounging around, hitting snooze 17 times, just get your ass out of bed when your alarm goes off. Yes, even the alarm at the weekend.

It is so easy during the week to know when you have to leave the house for work, how long it will take you to get ready, and then set your alarm to give you just enough time to achieve these tasks and pray to the commute gods to give you an easy ride in. I know I’ve done it myself.

JOIN THE 5 AM CLUB..

No, this doesn’t mean that you are up and at it at 5am every morning, which many people believe that it is. Its about getting up with enough time to ease yourself into the morning. Take a leisurely breakfast, read the news, take a long shower, what ever will wake you slowly. Remember those days the kids woke you and by midday you were praying they would take a nap so you could too? That’s because you woke and were on it asap, but by not getting up when that first alarm sounds you are just replicating it for absolutely no reason.

Yes I appreciate you need your 8+ hours of sleep, I need my beauty sleep more than most, but there is a simple solution.. GO TO BED EARLIER. You can train yourself to shift those hours around in your day from being a night owl to a morning person. It will take some time and tired days but it will happen.

So step one is simple, right? GET UP

2. DRESS UP

Again another simple one. Just get dressed for the occasion. I don’t care what people tell you, but first impressions last. Even people you see everyday, you still create that first impression with them time and time again.
